A job opportunity 'to make your heart lift!'

Would you enjoy helping communities set up befriending schemes with well-motivated volunteers? Linking Lives UK currently has 58 schemes making regular home visits, telephone calls (or both) to around 700 people experiencing loneliness across England, Scotland and Wales.

A figure well-known to Anna Chaplains, Jeremy Sharpe, is relinquishing his role as Director of the befriending charity, Linking Lives UK. Jeremy has been a good friend to the Anna Chaplaincy movement since he and Debbie Thrower, its pioneer, first met a decade ago.

Debbie said she was really sorry to hear that Jeremy was moving on to new challenges. 'Jeremy has been a key figure in combatting loneliness and inspiring more support for older people nationally. His shaping of Linking Lives UK has been remarkable.'

'Get your skates on if the role appeals to you' said Debbie, 'as the deadline for applications is Friday, September 27.'

She added, 'Jeremy was keynote speaker at our annual Anna Chaplaincy Gathering of the network, at High Leigh in Hertfordshire, several years ago. We have been in close contact with him over many years, given our shared objectives.

However, this is a great opportunity for someone new to take on the role Jeremy has forged so ably.'

'For just the right candidate, it is a job opportunity to make the heart lift!'

Do read in his own words why Jeremy has come to this decision https://linkinglives.uk/time-for-change/ .

Part of his legacy is the coalition of Christian charities, Christians Together Against Loneliness, CTAL, which he helped get off the ground https://www.ctal.uk/ and of which Anna Chaplaincy was also a founder member. We wish Jeremy every success and happiness in the future.
