The Kendal Anna Chaplaincy team in the Lake District has been busy enlisting help to decorate their tree at the Kendal parish church Christmas Tree Festival.
Anna Chaplain Beverley Moore says, ‘I have been making the decorations which are on the tree with residents of two of the four residential care homes which I visit. You will see some photographs on a washing line near the tree showing the residents making and showing their decorations.
‘Our Anna Chaplaincy Christmas tree is part of The Charity Christmas Tree Festival held at Holy Trinity Kendal Parish Church. There are 30 trees this year, with a variety of different charities taking part. Admission is £1 per adult and children are free. People can buy bags of tokens (10 in a bag for £1) and place the tokens in the bucket of their favourite charity. However all money received from the door, refreshments and tokens is split equally between all the charities.
‘This year we have a craft stall too and those proceeds will also be shared. It has been lovely to see so many people coming through the door once again during Advent, and to see the joy on the faces of the children as they look at and talk about the nativity scenes around the church.’
