The Diocesan Lead for Anna Chaplaincy in Bath and Wells, Wendy Haslam, has been in touch to tell us about the recent commissioning of Annie Wynter-Croft:
'Annie was commissioned on July 16 by the Very Reverend Toby Wright, Dean of Wells Cathedral, as an Anna Chaplain in Wells Cathedral. The commissioning took place within the 10am service of Holy Communion.
In addition to the normal congregation for this service, others attended to give support to Annie.
Dean Toby is very keen to have more Anna Chaplains and we much appreciate his support and enthusiasm for this ministry.
We welcome Annie to this role. She will work in the Cathedral community and beyond.
Annie is a Reader (or LLM, Licensed Lay Minister) in the church, so she brings with her this background of knowledge and experience.
After the service we gathered in the cathedral café for refreshment. It was a joyful event.'
