Sue Brittain was commissioned as an Anna Chaplain at St John the Baptist, in Corby, part of Peterborough Diocese, on Sunday August 31.

She has been a Lay Pastoral Minister for seven years and her background working alongside older people for more than 20 years has given her ample skills and experience to take up this new ministry. She told us:

“I really felt that this was God’s calling.”

Sue has already got to work setting up a local coffee morning and has a number of other ideas for developing the work.

St John's Church has had a worshipping congregation on the site since before Domesday in the eleventh century. The church building itself has features which are around 800 years old.
