This month's edition of BRF News focuses on Anna Chaplain Jastine Diaz and his ministry as an Anna Chaplain in Colchester, Essex.
Originally from the Philippines, he compares and contrasts life for older people in the country of his birth with his experiences in the UK: '...where I'm from we don't have care facilities like care homes. We lok after older people within the family.'
He has coined the term TEND, which stands for 'time, encounter, narrative and dignity.'
'Everyone has a story, and when people are given space to tell their stories to someone completely focused on them, it does so much for them. It makes them feel that they've been heard and affirmed. It brings them peace.'
