John Swinton highlights churches' role in offering good 'later life' spiritual care

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

You can now watch the recorded briefing, presented by Professor John Swinton, that we held recently to tell everyone about the great new course we are offering.

The leading theologian based at the University of Aberdeen and author of Dementia: Living in the Memories of God (Eerdmans, 2012), explains who the course is for and its many benefits. John is the lead presenter on the Spiritual Care Series and makes a potentially complex subject much easier to understand thanks to his inimitably relaxed style.

Don't miss John's talk on the importance of churches offering spiritual care to people in their later years and the questions and answers session which followed. The 90-minute briefing was hosted by pioneer of Anna Chaplaincy, Debbie Thrower.

'In Exeter yesterday,' said Debbie, 'we rounded off a get-together of the county's Anna Chaplains by all watching a clip from his talk. A group of chaplains there is one of a number keen to follow the Spiritual Care Series course that BRF's making available.' Find more details at annachaplaincy.org.uk/spiritual-care-series.
