Odette Millar was commissioned as an Anna Chaplain in Lincoln Cathedral on May 28, alongside Sue Frecklington. As well as sharing with us her thoughtful 'The Alphabet for Life', Odette has described what led her towards Anna Chaplaincy:
'My calling for Anna Chaplaincy was influenced by personal experience. I looked after my mum who was blind and suffered from vascular dementia in her advancing years. After she died, I found I still wanted to help people like her.'
'Whilst in school, I was not very good at art but a latent interest in Art and Craft, led me to help facilitate art and craft activities for adults in a non-church setting but within a Christian environment in the village where I live.
I like to write poetry too. Sometimes I wake up with a poem in my head. One night I awoke to this instead and wrote it all down before I forgot it. It was very powerful, and I believe, the message applies to us all.'

'As I became an Authorised Lay Minister in the Anglican church, I felt I was being called to do more. So, I heard the name “Anna Chaplaincy” and went in search for more information on the internet. The rest is history!
I am so honoured to serve my community in this way. It’s just the start of a new path. Please pray for me as I discover new and wonderful ways to bring Love to others.'
