Posies... to pick up and go

Updated: Mar 19, 2021

Anna Chaplain Sue Yeo describes her Mothering Sunday this year:

On Sunday, St Martins Church, Maidstone, as it had done in previous years (we usually give the posies out in church at the end of the service), put 100 Mother's Day posies outside church for mums or those who wished to take and give to their mums, or perhaps just wanted a small posy to lighten up their homes. We did have a few over, and I gave these to Ashley Gardens who were delighted to receive them.

I also delivered six knee blankets and three twiddlemuffs to a local residential home this week. They find the knee blankets are 'comforting' when worn over laps in the residential community room and in individuals rooms when sitting in an armchair. All knitted by our church knitting group. I know many of the churches have knitting groups, and if you have any homes in your areas who would like a gift of blankets or twiddlemuffs let me know and they will happily knit some. Also small teddies or bunnies, as I understand these can also be very comforting.

We will happily pass on requests to Sue if you'd like to email us.
