'Snuggly' Befriended Blankets on their way to those who need them

Anna Chaplains in mid-Sussex are pioneering the mass gift of blankets to older people who may be feeling the cold this winter. Every thermal blanket from charity Befriended in Burgess Hill includes a goodwill message.

Gail Millar, Anna Chaplain and founder of the charity, hopes as many as a thousand blankets will be distributed by local churches to needy older people. Gail has been speaking about the initiative on BBC Radio Sussex during this week which includes the World Day of Kindness. She said the blankets are 'super snuggly' and just like 'being wrapped in God's love'.

Gail has also filmed a message on the charity's website giving more details about how to acquire the blankets for distribution to people who need them in the local area.

'We wanted to offer practical help as a way of showing God's love.'
