Sponsored walk for Anna Chaplaincy well underway!

Debbie Ducille (right) and her friend Kate Arden-White set off from Alton

Anna Chaplaincy's Debbie Ducille is midway through a 60 mile sponsored walk in aid of Anna Chaplaincy. She and her companion Kate set off from Alton, where Anna Chaplaincy began in 2014, on Sunday. To date, the total raised stands at just over two thousand pounds. They'd love to top the £5000 mark!

One of three anniversary cakes made for the occasion!

A special anniversary service celebrating ten years of Anna Chaplaincy as part of BRF was held at St Lawrence Church in Alton on Sunday September 15. It was attended by all the town's Anna Chaplains past and present, and many of the current Anna Friends' volunteers. Pioneer of Anna Chaplaincy Debbie Thrower preached at the service, and BRF's CEO Richard Fisher read a lesson. It was jointly held by Anglicans and Methodists in the town, representing GAP, the Greater Alton Project.

En route on the walk, Debbie and Kate are meeting friends and colleagues and taking in some historic sites such as Douia Abbey and Dorchester Abbey. They have already called in on Berkshire's Englefield Estate and met local Anna Chaplain, the Revd Heather Turner.

The walk is part of a whole series of events to mark the last ten years of Anna Chaplaincy and involving many Anna Chaplains across the country. Another service is being held at 2pm on this Friday September 20, to welcome home the walkers to Abingdon. It's at the Peachcroft Christian centre, Lindsay Drive. All are welcome!
