Another wonderful weekend has taken pace at St Padarn’s. The Anna Chaplaincy Ministry Lead Debbie Ducille and coordinator Jane Butcher were delighted to join the Revd Sally Rees and local Anna Chaplains, Mavis and Nell, in delivering a 4-day residential training course at the St Padarn’s, the Church in Wales college in Cardiff.

The course, led by Sally, explored Older Peoples’ ministry skills and Anna Chaplaincy. It was offered for the third consecutive year to clergy and lay leaders from across Wales, as part of ministry formation, and has proved consistently popular.

The participants demonstrated a breadth of expertise and experience, explained Debbie, and the whole course proved rich and inspiring for all present. This proved the case right from the opening session, when Bishop David Morris (Bangor) joined the group for conversation. Bishop David has been a great ally in developing Anna Chaplaincy in North Wales and supported the translation of Anna Chaplaincy information into Welsh.

‘The whole weekend was a joy - and appropriately so, being over Pentecost! From the opening session with Bishop David, to beautiful evening prayers, thoughtful discussion, shared learning, an experience of Messy Vintage and glorious Welsh voices raised in song; this was a rich experience for all present.'
'We remain very grateful to St Padarn’s for their generous hospitality and support and look forward to convening again in Cardiff in the future.'
Debbie Ducille
