Supporters from across the Diocese of Portsmouth came together in Lee on the Solent on Sunday July 19 for the commissioning of two more Anna Chaplains.
Members of St Faith’s church warmly welcomed visitors as Jayne Barter (Lee on the Solent) and Susan Round (Emsworth) were welcomed to the network. The Revd Dr Paul Chamberlain spoke warmly of the importance of being open to ‘spiritual conversations’ and showed an Anna Chaplaincy video as part of his talk to help explain the ministry.
National Anna Chaplaincy Coordinator Marian Muskett gave a welcome on behalf of BRF Ministries and spoke of the diversity of the work among older people being seen across the country.
Jayne and Sue join fifty-seven others in the Diocese of Portsmouth who minister alongside older people in their communities, and who will be shortly joined by three more on the Isle of Wight, bringing the national total to 500 this summer.
If you would like to find out more about Anna Chaplaincy, you would be very welcome at our next online Introductory Meeting in September – email annachaplaincy@brf.org.uk for more details.
