A new Anna Chaplain in Norwich

Nicky Dunnett was commissioned as an Anna Chaplain on Sunday 28 January at her home church of St David’s Thorpe End, Norwich. She joins another 15 existing Anna Chaplains across the diocese of Norwich.

Nicky writes:

‘I am delighted to be starting my ministry as an Anna Chaplain. I am a member of the congregation at St David’s Thorpe End, Norwich, and for some time I had felt that there was a need to specifically reach out to support the elderly in our community. I have recently retired from teaching and was wondering how I could serve God in a new way. So when I happened to see there was a morning conference at Brundall Church with Debbie Thrower, introducing the Anna Chaplaincy, I decided to go along to find out more. I really felt that God was saying he could use me in this ministry to older people. Although I have only just been commissioned as an Anna Chaplain, I have been encouraged by setting up a “Coffee, cake and company” group at St David’s, which is proving popular. I look forward to God leading me into further involvement within Thorpe End and at our local care home. It is good to feel the warmth of support from the Anna Chaplaincy community!’
