In early June, Head of BRF Ministries’ Fundraising Julie MacNaughton called Debbie Ducille with the fantastic news that the Charles Plater Trust had awarded Anna Chaplaincy a generous grant for two years to further our national work.
The Charles Plater Trust is a significant grant-making charity focused on Catholic Social Teaching, and aims to support a wide-ranging number of social action projects across the UK.

So it was that on June 214, Debbie and BRF Ministries' colleague Karen Laister met in Cardiff to attend the awards ceremony, followed by Mass in the Metropolitan Cathedral of St David, where local freelance trainer and Anna Chaplain, the Revd Sally Rees, joined them.

‘The whole day was really inspiring and enriching,’ Debbie reflected afterwards.
‘More than 30 charities and projects received an award from CPT this year and were represented, both over lunch and in the marketplace. It was a humbling experience to hear of the very real difference that we are all making in our communities, and with such innovation.'

A highlight for all present was to hear play one grant recipient - the Dovetail Orchestra from Bristol – featuring music from orchestra-members originating from Columbia and Sierra Leone among many other countries. It was also a real encouragement to meet so many of the Charles Plater trustees present, who took the time to speak with the representatives gathered.
‘We are very grateful to Dr Philomena Cullen as Trust Manager, the Rt Revd Richard Moth as Chair, Philippa Gitlin as Chair of the grant-making committee and all at the Charles Plater Trust for this generous award and the ongoing support that they provide.'
'There is much work to be done upon receiving this grant in demonstrating the impact of our work, but there is a real sense that this is a collaborative approach, which offers both challenge and opportunity in emerging relationships in the coming months.’
