Following the success of the first Quiet Day offered by freelance trainer and local coordinator Katherine Froggatt and her husband Hugh, ‘Ageing with Grace’ went on the road and took place at the end of June at St John’s Church, Harborne in Birmingham. Anna Chaplains and their teams gathered from the Midlands.
They were joined by Spiritual Care team members from St John’s, a group that was facilitated by recently-retired Catriona Foster, after taking the Spiritual Care Series training there. Katherine and Hugh kindly travelled down from Lancaster to share wisdom, inspiration and a safe space in which to explore our own ageing and to consider new as well as some ancient ways to encounter God in that journey.

One participant described the day as ‘full yet spacious’; another reflected that ‘the whole day was enjoyable, very well-organised and well-presented.’ Connections and conversation as well as space and time to be silent were all appreciated.

‘Our grateful thanks go once again to Katherine and Hugh for their rich, thought-provoking contributions,’ Debbie Ducille said. ‘This is my second time to attend the day, and I gained new, different riches! Many thanks also go to our colleague Jane Butcher for brilliant organisational work, and to St John’s Harborne for their hospitality.’
