'I had the pleasure of joining a fantastic number of the Arden Marches church members in Studley, Warwickshire on Sunday August 20,'(writes Church lead, Debbie Ducille).
This was a welcome opportunity to celebrate the first anniversary of Anna Chaplain Celia Spiers’ ministry.
I reflected on Psalm 71 and the meaning of ageing with con-fidence (‘with faith’), while Celia looked back on ministry in the last 12 months, and forward to all that the coming year might hold.

Celia is obviously held in great affection by all among whom she serves, but is also very much embedded in a wider team - led by Rector , the Revd Kate Mier - which includes a number of wonderful volunteers.
Between them they offer home visits and Communion, a monthly dementia café and a vibrant chaplaincy-presence in several local care homes. Some volunteers shared their experience of this growing ministry during the service.
I also very much enjoyed a chat with local Reader (Licensed Lay Minister LLM) Joan Wilkinson, who leads a Bible study group and serves alongside Celia in home visits. Joan was particularly interested in how Bible Reflections for Older People might be of use to group members, and she proves a wonderful example of faith-full old age in this community.'

'I’m looking forward to further conversation with Kate and Celia, exploring the growth of this team to develop as Anna Friends’, said Debbie. ‘And to next year’s celebration – more cake!’
