Charlotte's poem in praise of Anna Chaplains

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

We recorded yesterday's commissioning of Charlotte Evans in Brighton. Do tune in to hear her recite her own poem about Anna Chaplains. She wrote it having been inspired by listening to the stories of Anna Chaplains recounted during our annual Gathering online last October. It opens:

Story sharers, and beacons of hope, Anna Chaplains are a lifeline, helping people to cope. Denominations gather, differences melt, Virtual encouragements are tangibly felt.

(See the blog from 28 October 2020.)

Charlotte also paid tribute to her mother Linda and mother-in-law Anne, who were both present at the online commissioning, saying how much both of them minister among older people in informal ways, which has given her such good role role models for her work now as both a Story Chaplain and an Anna Chaplain working with the team at the charity, Time to Talk Befriending (TTTB).

It was a privilege to commission Charlotte, to meet her family and a trustee of TTTB, Claire Godley who also joined in the service.
