A very Happy Easter to one and all. There’s been a tremendous effort to ensure care homes in the Cheltenham and Bishop’s Cleeve (CaBiC) area were not forgotten this Easter. CaBiC’s Anna coordinator Gill Ford reports:
‘Our volunteer knitters and crocheters throughout Cheltenham and Bishop’s Cleeve (and beyond!) have been busy again this Easter, creating handmade Easter baskets, which have been delivered (over 1,200 of them), together with a handwritten Easter card and some mini chocolate eggs, to care homes throughout our local area.
‘They have been really well received, with one activities coordinator even saying that some of her residents had been asking whether they would be receiving something from us again this Easter! As she observed: “You have definitely started something here!” We have already been asked what the Christmas project will be. I think we’ll leave it a few months before we launch that one (although we do already have an idea!).
‘It has been interesting that, as a result of these projects, we now have Anna Friends regularly visiting two care homes to help with their “knit and natter” groups, enabling them to draw alongside the residents and have some valuable conversations – a real ministry of presence.’
