Looking ahead to Candlemas

Debbie Ducille

Who on earth is looking ahead already to February? Well, Anna Chaplains and those responsible for worship services in churches and care homes are! Even in this busy Advent and Christmas season, preparations are being made for marking Candlemas (2 February in the church year, often celebrated the Sunday before or after), combining it with ways of Celebrating Age, telling the story of Anna and Simeon, fundraising for Anna Chaplaincy, or any combination of the above.

Norfolk-based Anna Chaplain and local network convenor, Gaye Hailstone, has been in touch, and would be happy to share an order of service and ideas with anyone interested: please email annachaplaincy@brf.org.uk if you would like to know more, and we will send your message on to Gaye. If, like me, you’re more last-minute in your preparations, watch out for further blog posts in January.
