We're delighted that Joanne Davis was commissioned on Sunday February 1 as the second Anna Chaplain at Holy Epiphany, Bournemouth, to serve alongside Frances Attwood.
Joanne says, 'It was a lovely service for my commissioning as an Anna Chaplain interspersed with our Candlemas All Age Service.' Frances Attwood spoke on the passage about Simeon and Anna in the Temple from St Luke's gospel and Joanne gave her testimony before being commissioned by the Revd Helen Griffiss.

Their recent ‘Hymns and Cake’ afternoon was attended by 32 people; something that seems to be needed and well-received. 'Our little side chapel was full'. Together with the ‘Memory Lane’ sessions, Joanne and Frances are looking forward to serving older people in their community.
Joanne says that she has loved and been drawn to older people ever since she was a girl and came to realise that doing what she loved was actually serving God. Having cared for her own parents in their older age, Joanne then took the Winchester Diocese’s Bishop’s Commission for Mission course, enabling her to extend her pastoral care role.
Taking the Anna Chaplaincy training course allowed her to look at some aspects in more depth. She says:
'It has given me a new confidence, enthusiasm and insight into carrying on my ministry here as an Anna Chaplain along with my Pastoral Care role.'
