I'm reminded that it's ten years since I spoke at MHA's (Methodist Homes) 70th anniversary celebrations at Yarnfield Park in the heart of the Midlands (writes Debbie Thrower)! Now a special event is being organised for its 80th anniversary on Thursday OCTOBER 12 (NEWLY-ARRANGED DATE), 2023 - Care for the Future - in Wembley.
The venue is Park Lane Methodist Church, 65 Park Lane, Wembley, HA9 7SG. The event starts at 11.30 am, with light refreshments being served from 11.00 am. A complimentary lunch will be served following the meeting. For catering purposes, register at careforthefuture@mha.org.uk or by calling 01332 221651.
MHA will explain how improving the lives of older people is at the heart of its ministry. Guests will not only see how MHA social and online activities help older people feel included in their own communities, but also how support in care homes can help people with dementia and depression. Plus, how spiritual support gives residents and their families a sense of comfort.
Guests are invited to ask questions about anything related to MHA or caring for older people to ensure they live later life well.
This event isn’t just restricted to supporters and volunteers - employees are welcome too!
So if you’re in the Wembley area, feel free to go along and learn more. It promises to be an extra special day as MHA celebrates eighty years of helping people to live later life well with a key part played by the charity's MHA Chaplains.
