The Bishop of Worcester, the Right Revd Hugh Nelson, visited Malvern Deanery this month and attended the Messy Vintage service held at Holy Trinity Church in the town.
Together with the Area Dean, Gary Crellin, and Vicar of Holy Trinity, Becky Elliott, the bishop joined in with older people and volunteers to celebrate the theme of the environment by the making of card mice and singing hymns, enjoying readings and sharing prayers together.

'We reminded ourselves of our eyes, to see God’s world, our lips to sing his praise and our ears to hear the sounds around us' said Anna Chaplain Eileen Tomlin. '
'A mouse uses his tail and whiskers to navigate and to feel his environment, and we all need to navigate our way through life, and to know we are travelling the right way,' she added.

The bishop was presented with a mouse for the Cathedral - as every church should have a church mouse - and a fish (from a craft we had made on a previous occasion) to help him become a ‘Fisher of People’ (Matthew 4:19).
'Bishop Hugh stayed to chat with people over a cup of tea and home-made cakes. Everyone enjoyed his visit and agreed it was a lovely occasion.'
