MHA Memorial Day 2020

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

Methodist Homes will hold a Memorial Day on Friday 4 September to remember all those who have died from coronavirus during the pandemic. A special service at 10.45 am will mark not only the passing of those who have died in large numbers in residential care but also those who have died from whatever cause in 2020.

MHA say, 'The service will provide a special moment to think about people we have known including residents within our homes and retirement living schemes, as well as people connected to our work through "Live at Home". We are also remembering MHA colleagues who have died this year.

'We know this has been an extremely difficult time for our homes and schemes, residents, members and loved ones. Families have often been unable to visit a loved one in person, and places have become quieter as community and professional visits came to a halt.

'Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to make MHA a positive place for people to be supported in later life. As we make this memorial together, let us show our support for one another.

'As we gather to reflect with music and words, light and stillness, let us hold each other in our hearts and remember with dignity those who have died.'

The service will include a two-minute silence at 11.00 am and will be recorded so you may watch it again at anytime on YouTube. For a poster showing more details, click here.
