Take a piano, a list of tunes and a whole lot of joy!
Joy Blake leads singing groups for Methodist Homes, 'MHA Live at Home Schemes', near her home in Farnborough, Hampshire. We do 'breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, and songs from a wide range of years (some members are in their early 60s similarly to me, but that goes upwards to members in their mid 90s). Obviously nobody can meet at the moment,' she explains.
So, Joy has produced a musical quiz – an A to Z of secular songs – you can tune into by clicking here.
She is featured playing all the tunes herself on the piano at home and is responding to MHA's 2.6 Challenge, recording 26 songs for people to guess the titles of and enjoy a trip down memory lane at the same time. 'It may be a lighter moment for anyone in these more than challenging days!' If you do feel able to donate to MHA, you may do so via Joy's Just Giving page.
She urges no one to feel under pressure to give financially: 'But if any of you would like to have a go, or has an older relative living with you or someone you can play it to down the phone, please do.'
