Revd Erica Roberts and the Caraway team have sent the following reminder – Erica writes:
‘If you’ve not already done so, please book your place on our upcoming Refresh & Resource Day on Monday 13 May. We do hope Anna Chaplains and others in equivalent roles will be able to join us for this day, where we will be refreshed and resourced for this important work amongst our older communities. As we look at the challenges of isolation and loneliness, we are delighted that Jeremy Sharpe, the national director of Linking Lives UK, will be coming to share his wisdom and experience with us. Our local team will also be sharing the outcome of our Loneliness Project and launching the resulting ToolBox. Our friend, Gill Sakakini, a pioneer priest in the arts, based in Somerset, will be leading us in worship, along with opportunities to engage in something creative throughout the day. And finally, we would love to invite you to join us as the bishop of Winchester, Rt Revd Philip Mounstephen licenses our new city chaplain for Dementia, Revd Dave Hendra, and prays for you all at a short service at 4.30 pm. There will be a reception before the service and more refreshments!!’
A voluntary donation of £30 is suggested for the day, covering refreshments and a light lunch and any profits will go towards the work of Caraway. This can be paid on the day by card, cash or cheque.
