Saying it with flowers

Care home staff in South Wales receive bouquets and a big 'thank you'...

Pam Cram at Mayflower care home with their social activities organiser Rhian

Anna Chaplaincy network member Pam Cram near Swansea has been keeping care homes much in mind at this time of year. She writes: 'I thought you might be interested in what we did here at Christmas. We've had very little contact since March with the three care homes who used to bring residents to our Tea and Hymns sessions. Until November they had all three been Covid-free, but staff were really busy keeping it that way. Then in November one home, Cwm Cartref, lost 14 of its 37 residents in three weeks. They were featured in a very moving two-page spread article in the Western Mail. Another home, Mayflower, lost four residents around the same time. The third home remains Covid-free so far as I'm aware.'

Wonderful staff

'We at Ty Croeso particularly wanted to acknowledge the wonderful staff at the homes, so we arranged for a large bouquet and card to be delivered to the homes specifically for the staff, plus a bag of Christmas cards – one for each resident – just to say we were thinking of them and looking forward to welcoming them again sometime to Tea and Hymns.

'The montage below features on Ty Croeso Clydach's Facebook page showing the homes receiving the flowers and cards. Mayflower Care Home responded saying, "Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers, we miss you all especially this time of year Mayflower x."'
